But who is Job Corps for?
Free vocational education and training is made available by Job Corps, which operates over 120 locations across the United States.
Students acquire the hands-on experience necessary to launch a career, enter an apprenticeship, or continue their education at a higher level. Some graduates even go on to serve in the armed forces.
The most exciting part? It is at no cost.
Before you can begin training at Job Corps, you will first need to satisfy some of the organization’s eligibility requirements.
For instance, you must be between the ages of 16 and 24 and have a low income, and you must be a citizen of the United States (or lawfully admitted permanent resident alien, refugee, asylee, or other immigrant who has been authorized to work in the United States).
Get in touch with an admissions counselor if you want more information about the income requirements, but in general, you might be eligible if you get SNAP, TANF, free or reduced lunch at school, or if you are homeless or in the foster care system. Sound like you?
