ECG will compensate customers starting October 24 after Prepaid System issues.
The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has announced processes to compensate customers whose accounts were affected by the recent system glitch that was caused by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
According to a statement released by the PURC, this comes as a result of “extensive engagement with the management of the ECG.”
Customers who were negatively impacted can start the process of receiving compensation by going to the district offices of the ECG or the regional offices of the PURC between the dates of Monday, October 24, and Friday, October 28, 2022.
Another option available to them is to “complete and submit forms for consideration for compensation” by going to the respective websites of the PURC and the ECG, as stated in the statement.
